Preflight Checklist

I use the latest version of YouTube Music (Application).
I have searched the issue tracker for a feature request that matches the one I want to file, without success.

Problem Description

Would it be possible to add a Gapless playback feature? The pauses between songs tend to break the flow of an album i listen to and it gets annoying for me

Proposed Solution

Adding this feature to all future versions of Youtube Music without activating dangerous scripts

Alternatives Considered

Alternatively removing the awkward pauses in between songs entirely if gapless playback isnt viable

Aren't these gaps caused by track downloading time? I mean, track need to be downloaded (cached) before you can play it.

I guess you mean a crossfade like the "Transition between tracks" feature on Spotify, right? I use the app and haven't noticed any strange pauses, but having a plugin that does that would be awesome! Maybe it could be something to keep in mind for future plans, in case someone ends up building it.

Yes but quite buggy to the point of it being recommended to be kept turned off for proper functional music listening experience.

I second this. Gapless playback would be beautiful to have. I don't think it's a matter of caching (or better, not only), because it is theoretically advertised as a premium feature
