Preflight Checklist

  • I use the latest version of YouTube Music (Application).
  • I have searched the issue tracker for a feature request that matches the one I want to file, without success.

Problem Description

I have an external audio compressor VST that I've tuned to my liking.
However, the way youtube music adjusts the volume would compound with the compressor's results, causing annoying volume fluctuations.

I think the same issue, complicated by system's Loudness Equalization, caused the unpleasant volume changes that some users reported.

Proposed Solution

Is there any way to undo the changes YouTube made to the volume?

Alternatives Considered

If that's not possible, what compressor timing parameters would produce a more predictable volume change?

Additional Information

I am not an audio professional. Could uploading a volume sweep to youtube help reverse engineer what they did? Then, could a plugin be created with matching parameters to cancel or amplify that?
