Preflight Checklist

  • I use the latest version of YouTube Music (Application).
  • I have searched the issue tracker for a feature request that matches the one I want to file, without success.

Problem Description

Hi, I've just spent the past few days editing my Last.fm scrobbles as I've listened to a bunch of collaborations and it's scrobbled with an "and" instead of the more used "&" (ampersand), even when it shows an "&" for the song's artists itself... For example: say I listen to "Die With A Smile" by Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars, it scrobbles it as "Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars".

This is messing up my Last.fm profile, so I've been editing the scrobbles on Last.fm, but surely this is something that can be fixed so that I don't have to keep editing it.

Also, sometimes it will scrobble tracks that say "(feat. [artist name])" and sometimes it doesn't.

Proposed Solution

Is there a way to make it so that "and" is scrobbled on Last.fm as an ampersand - "&"

Alternatives Considered

Maybe a way for people to choose a way they want songs to be scrobbled?

Might wanna check the "Artist and track corrections" setting in your last.fm settings under "Website settings", that might be interfering

Thanks, I've checked that but it doesn't make a difference, when it's checked it just auto-corrects for the artists and titles that last.fm knows about but also it causes issues with some artist names, such as "Kesha" being scrobbled as "Ke$ha" and "Noah Cyrus" being scrobbled as "Miley Cyrus". It doesn't correct artist collaborations in regards to "and" and/or "&".

It's a issue in YTM. YTM often uses "and" instead of &, and often adds/removes incorrect "feat.'" endings.
