Preflight Checklist

  • I use the latest version of YouTube Music (Application).
  • I have searched the issue tracker for a feature request that matches the one I want to file, without success.

Problem Description

Most of my tray icons are monochrome, with Youtube Music's tray icon being one of just a few that aren't. It'd be great if there was an option for a monochrome tray icon.

Proposed Solution

Add an option for a monochrome tray icon.

Alternatives Considered

Manually replacing the files works, but it's a hassle to do this every time the app updates.

Additional Information

No response

I’d like to address this issue, so what type of icons should we consider for the system tray? Should we go with Fluent UI icons for a more native appearance, or Material UI icons to maintain brand consistency? The current YouTube Music icon is hard to distinguish in the system tray, even on larger screens, let alone smaller ones. Additionally, we should note that the icon changes based on the player’s state, and the current pause state icon feels disconnected from the play state icon.

For example this is how it'd look with Fluent UI icons based on player state:

Should we go with [Fluent UI](https://fluenticons.co/outlined) icons for a more native appearance, or [Material UI](https://fonts.google.com/icons) icons to maintain brand consistency? Additionally, we should note that the icon changes based on the player’s state, and the current **_pause_** state icon feels disconnected from the _**play**_ state icon. Hello @yilmazcabuk, thank you for working on this. I'm not a developer, so I apologize if this sounds dumb, but would it be possible to use something like this? I think the double circles would distinguish the tray icon from the others. Anyway, thanks again for spending time on this!
